I am not sure you can appreciate the work that went into each of these photographs. I not only exploited the Canon EOS Digital Rebel T31 but I used techniques in Photoshop that you are probably not aware of when just looking at the pictures. Have you considered the benefits of setting the camera on “Portrait” mode when taking landscapes or photos like the bird feeder?Portrait Mode can be used for more than just people! It works well for pet portraits too. Also, consider using this mode when shooting any subject that could benefit from an out of focus background. I have found it useful when I shoot products for online auctions too. Portrait Mode is as easy to use as pointing the camera at the subject and pressing the shutter button.

Great Red Bird Feeder pictures Abe. even if you had to “photoshop” them. Just kidding. I know that I sometimes had to edit my pictures because the camera did not see the same as I did. Had not thought about using the portrait mode in my camera but I am going to try it on some of my people shots. Have a good day.
Thanks for the Portrait Mode tip! Can’t wait to try it!
P.S. Would love to read about your kicking the can story!
I am going to do it for newspapers first and then on here.
Cool. Will keep an eye open for it.
I am not sure if the Canon PowerShot point & shoot that I use has an equivalent setting, Abe, but will check it out. The Canon digItal Elph for sure does not offer this choice. It was hard for me to notice the subtle differences in these 3 photos.
